Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Behavioral Health Specialist, Thought Coach
Our internal dialogue moment by moment creates our life. We say “I am…” and the words that follow “happy, accomplished, smart, fit” or “unmotivated, discouraged, fat, stressed” reflect our beliefs about ourselves. These beliefs shape who we are and who we wish to become.
My approach in it’s simplest form, asks what do you visualize? What do you desire to create? From this answer we formulate a plan to overcome your challenges, and move toward your very best life. We develop an internal dialogue that cultivates healing, positive change and sustainability.
Incorporating the subconscious mind through the use of hypnotherapy allows us to address the root of thought, how these thoughts came to be and under what circumstances (triggers) these thoughts intensify and create undesirable patterns and consequences. In our work together we will combine the use of neural linguist programming, therapeutic hypnotherapy, and thought coaching to develop a counseling relationship that fits your needs and goals. I will immediately provide you with tools, including the use of self hypnosis, to support you in actualizing your dreams as quickly as possible.
The first call I get from a client often begins with a variation of, “I know what to do, but I cannot summon the discipline to accomplish the changes I desire to create in my life.” They feel like they are internally “fighting themselves.”
Why do we sometimes feel this way? The subconscious mind, the area of the mind where patterns are located, has not been integrated into the process. With this integration, comes freedom and energy because it allows the whole being to focus in one direction, on one vision.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy goes beyond hypnosis; it provides a structured and specific set of instructions based on each individual’s desired goals, dreams, and aspirations. Hypnotherapy provides us the opportunity to reflect at the deepest level of our being. Issues are resolved at their root source resulting in a positive and sustainable internal and external change.
As a therapeutically trained hypnotherapist, I help my clients to navigate inward; bypassing their critical faculty and moving beyond their conscious state of mind. We access a refined state of focus that is a completely natural experience, similar to the feeling one would associate with daydreaming. Together we uncover the root of thought and belief. We identify patterns of behavior and discover the triggers that lead to those patterns. This model allows us to uncover the seemingly hidden reasons why we do what we do. Once uncovered, we can then make changes to how we view, feel, and experience things in the subconscious mind in order to effect true change.
What is the Subconscious Mind?
The subconscious mind is the part of the brain that keeps track of and replays memories and plans when you are not thinking about them consciously. Throughout our lives we record instructions, perceptions, and realities that shape the way we think. Each of these beliefs are recorded and stored subconsciously. Your subconscious mind continues to notice and process a vast stream of information while you are consciously attending to your daily life.
If you have learned a particular behavior and it seems to be a “habit” or compelling in nature, it is because your subconscious mind has been taught to repeat the behavior. Much like a computer, your subconscious mind does not know how to do it any other way.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming
The neurology of your body (neuro) uses a language (linguistic) to record external and internal information. Our mind perceives the world in a unique manner engaging our senses, or a combination of them, with current and past perceptions to record impressions in the manner most easiest understood to us. Working with a therapist trained in the use of NLP allows the individual to examine their tendencies for accuracy as well as create new patterns to support the accomplishment of goals, dreams and desires.
